For this reason, Vol State’s cafeteria, also known as “The Grill” will be out of operation until a new food service provider is adopted. Sumner Regional Medical Center is sponsoring a fundraising event at Bluegrass Yacht and Country Club to raise funds for Volunteer State Community College. The event will take place Thursday, Nov. 4, from 5:30 – 9 p.m. Alison Webster, Vol State’s resource development officer, organized the event with her fellow Foundation Office committee. Volunteer State Community College will host a virtual and on-campus World Food Day event Thursday, Oct. 21. Students and staff are invited to learn more about sustainable and culturally diverse foods from guest speakers and student projects. Technology, Entertainment, Design (TED) speaker, Jinal Shah, will give a presentation discussing nutrition starting at 9 a.m. Shah’s presentation will occur over Zoom.
